Renovation and reopening of Gran Hotel Almería.

Ohtels Hotels & Resorts has reopened the doors of the iconic Gran Hotel Almería following an ambitious comprehensive renovation that began in October 2023. This project has transformed both the interior and exterior of the establishment, which was the city's first 4-star hotel since its inauguration in 1967 and has been part of the chain since 2018.

The renovation has modernized all facilities and optimized space, successfully adding seven new rooms to the 105 already existing ones. One of the most visible changes is the new façade, giving the building a contemporary image fully integrated into Almería's urban environment.

In the culinary section, the former restaurant has been converted into a modern Gastro Bar. This new concept is designed for both guests and visitors to taste typical local cuisine, with a firm commitment to "Km 0" local products and responsible consumption.

Sustainability has been a fundamental pillar in the execution of the works. Following the Ohtels Sustainability Plan to reduce the carbon footprint, additional solar panels and advanced systems for energy efficiency and water saving have been installed. Furthermore, the hotel now prioritizes the use of compostable, biodegradable, and recycled materials in its daily operations.

During the inauguration event held on June 26, Eduard Farriol, CEO of Ohtels, highlighted: "Our intention is for Gran Hotel Almería to once again be an iconic hotel for the city, but in a more modern and sustainable way thanks to the renovation carried out."

Ohtels Hotels & Resorts, based in Salou (Tarragona), has 11 hotels spread across Catalonia and Andalusia, all located in strategic points of the Spanish coast as well as major urban centers in the country.
