Waste recycling and plastic reduction
In all Ohtels hotels we prioritise sustainable, compostable, biodegradable, ecological and recycled products. You will find them in the amenities in the room, in the restaurants, cafeterias...
We have also eliminated single-use plastic and are progressively reducing other plastics in our facilities.
To this end, we have a system of sustainable and reusable cups that is very convenient for our guests. Thanks to this system, in the 2024 season, we have used 2,167,223 fewer cups than we will use in 2022. A figure that is equivalent to reducing 86,689 kg of CO2.
We also have a sustainable bottle system, which has allowed us to reduce the use of plastic bottles by 88% in 2024, using 451,612 fewer bottles per year (which would be 14,389kg of plastic containers).
If we talk about glass bottles, in the year 2024, we have used 112,285 fewer bottles; which means that we use 75% fewer glass bottles.
This data allows us to state that we have reduced the number of containers by a total of 2,731,120 units, the equivalent of reducing our CO2 footprint by 266,689kg or planting 14,284 trees.
