This province, which is the easternmost in Andalusia, is a great destination for almost every kind of traveller: those looking for sun and sand; fans of sports like diving, sailing and hiking; people who enjoy rural tourism; visitors looking to enjoy protected natural spaces; those who want to see and discover monuments and historic places; and, of course, friends of the seventh art, film. Almeria offers a wide range of leisure and entertainment options thanks to its natural resources: 200 kilometres of coastline and natural parks, such as Cabo de Gata-Nijar or Desierto de Tabernas. It also has excellent tourism infrastructure with several marinas, a plethora of urban, rural and coastal accommodation establishments, theme parks and golf courses in addition to a large number of historic monuments, with highlights including the Alcazaba that dominates the city of Almeria. There are also numerous archaeological sites that tell the stories of the different civilisations that have inhabited these lands over the centuries.
